An Analytical Study of Associating with Good Friends’ Valuable Results According to Theravada Buddhist Philosophy

Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study good friends in Theravada Buddhist Philosophy, 2)
to study associating with good friends and 3) to analyze valuable results of associating with good friends
according to Theravada Buddhist philosophy.The data were mainly collected from the Tipitaka, books, documents,
commentaries and related research works.
The results of the research were found that:
Good friends in Theravada Buddhist philosophy are persons who have the right understanding to
distinguish What is good, what is bad, what is right, what is wrong, what is merit, what is sin, maintaining life
with mindfulness and wisdom and guide other people to the right way for valuable benefits.
Associating with good friends in the views of Theravada Buddhist philosophy is found that: associating
with good friends are conditions to support life get prosperity and good action because good friends are
beside you to give useful advices. Therefore human beings should associate with good friends and train
oneself to be good friends.
The valuable results of associating with good friends in the Theravada Buddhist philosophy’s viewpoints
are found that: associating with good friends make valuable result to personal and social level and to obtain
important objectives in Theravada Buddhist philosophy.
