The Study and Promotion of Preschool Children’s Creativity

Abstract
The main purposes of this research were to study the factors of preschool children’s creativity and to promote the creativity. The sample used in the study was 250 preschool boys and girls, with 4-5 years of age, who were studying in second year kindergarten in first semester of 2017 academic year at schools under the jurisdiction of Chaiyaphum Office of Primary Education Service Area 1.The 200 children, selected by cluster sampling, were used to study the factors, and another 50 children, selected by purposive sampling, were used to study the promotion of primary children’s creativity, comprising 25 children in the experimental group with the use of 4E-learning Model and 25 children in the comparison group with the use of school’s normal learning. The instruments used were an evaluation form for the preschool children’s creativity and the 4E-learning Model.
The results of study were summarized as follows : 1) Regarding the confirmatory factor analysis, it was found that the preschool children’s creativity comprised three factors: self-confidence, curiosity, and imagination with three indicators each. The total score and the scores of most factors were at the middle level. 2) According to the construct of a learning model, the model consisted of four steps: E1 Environment, E2 Explore, E3 Execution, and E4 Explain; and was called E4 –learning Model. Its quality in general was at the high appropriate level. 3) The results for the promotion of preschool children’s creativity revealed that the scores of children in the experimental group after the experiment were higher than those of before the experiment and also of the children in the comparison group, both in general and in all individual factors as well as indicators, with statistical significance at the level of .01. The effect size was at the high level.
