The Development of Web-Based Instruction Focus on Project-BasedLearning to Promote Analytical Thinking Skill on Database Management System Subject for Higher Vocational Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to 1) develop the web-based instructions using project based learning
to promote analytical thinking skill on database management system subject for second year vocational
diploma students 2) check the effectiveness of the web-based instructions, 3) compare the analytical thinking
of students between before and after learning on the web-based instructions, 4) study the satisfaction
of students learning on the web-based instructions. The sample groups were 35 students from vocational
certificate higher level in business computer department at Yasothon Technical College in the first semester
of the academic year 2016. The instruments used in the study were web-based instructions, the analytical
thinking test, the achievement test and the satisfaction evaluation. Statistics used were average, standard
deviation, t-test (Dependent Samples)
The research results were as follows : 1) the quality evaluation of web-based instructions was at highest
level 2) the effectiveness of the web-based instructions developed was at 1.02 by the Meguigans criterion.
3) the comparison of students analytical thinking between before and after studying using the web-based
instruction showed that after studying was higher than before studying at .05 level of significance 4) the satisfaction
scores of students after studying using web-based instruction was at highest level.
