Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the discourses of the Pathomsombodhikatha, the story of the life of the
Lord Buddha in term of structures.Data was collected from twenty-nine chapters of Pathomsombodhikatha by
The Suppreme Patriarch H.R.H Prince Paramanujitajinorasa.This research was studied in Discourses Analysis
Methodology of Prof.Robert E. Longacre and Prof.Somsonge Burusphat. Data was collected and saved in
electronic program by Excel Program. The results of the research are as follows.
The Pathomsombodhikatha are the narrative discourse. There are two structures. 1. The element of
grammatical profile in the name in which episode and The plot. There are three types building the name from
noune phares and words Which are building from the theme of story, building from Dhamma taught and building
from the name of places. The Plot : there are four types of leading part which are describing, describing
and interrogation, describing and speaking, and rhetorical describing. The body parts are the narrative and
describing. And there are four conclusion part types which are describing, depiction, conclusion, and refer to
incantation. 2. The four categories of body are : The story of the life of the Lord Buddha, The Dhamma taught
in first and second level, The Buddhist saint, and The concepts of the miracle.
