Abstract
Plant diversity study in Khoknongklong community forest in Kuthong Subdistrict, Chiang Yuen District, MahaSarakham Province from March, 2019 to March, 2020. The objective of this research is to study plant diversity and their utilization by local knowledge in community forest. Thirteen plant surveys and collecting were done (1 time a month) along nation trail.
The results showed that 63 species, 60 genus from 32 families. The most common plant species belong to the Fabaceae. (15 species found). The second richest families are Asclepiadaceae, Asteraceae and Euphorbiaceae. (4 species from each family found). There were 63 species from 32 families were used by villagers. They were divided into 5 groups based on local utilization, including 28 species for agriculture purpose, 31 species for herbal purpose, 29 species for environmental management purpose, 21 species for basic technology purpose and 5 species of belief.
