Abstract

The objective of this research weretostudypublic mind behavior and examine psychosocial factors with can predict public mind behavior of students. The sample was 337 of first and fourth undergraduate student of first semester in academic year 2016. Selected by means of Stratified Random Sampling.This research was processed with questionnaire and a 119-item consisted of 7 sections; 1) public mind behavior 2) self-efficacy (X1) 3) future orientation (X2) 4) positive attitudes toward public mind behavior (X3) 5) rearing practices (X4)6) social support (X5) and 7) media idol (X6). Such questionnaire were 5 rating scale with the IOC (index of item-objective congruence) between 0.60 and 1.00, the discrimination between 0.202 and 0.673, and the reliability of.707, .823, .850, .840, .814, .868 and.876 respectively.Data were analyzed by statistics using percentage, means, standard deviation and inference statistic and multiple regression analysis.


The results shown that public mind behavior are high level (gif.latex?\bar{X}= 3.99)and psychosocial factors which was a predictor of students’ public mind behavior found that the following 2 predictors, self-efficacy (X1) and social support (X5) variables altogether had predictive power on students’ public mind behavior at 55.9% statistically significant at the 0.05 level. Regression equations were formulated in form of raw and standard scores as follows:
