Cultural Tourism Management Model of Thai Ethnic Communities,Thai-Kui, Thai-Khmer and Thai-Lao in Thung Kula Ronghai area.

Abstract
This research aimed to; 1) study the history of cultural tourist attractions, 2) investigate the current conditions and difficulties in cultural tourism management, 3) examine the cultural tourism management model of Thai ethnic communities in Thai-Kui, Thai- Khmer and Thai-Lao in Thung Kula Ronghai area. The study was conducted by the qualitative method of inquiry. The population in the study were 136 people selected by purposive sampling method; divided into three groups with the regard of knowledgeable persons, operators, and general information providers. The data collection were done by using the following instruments; survey form, participative observation form, non-participative observation form, structured interview, non-structured interview, and group conversation record. The data was analyzed and presented by using descriptive analysis method.
The findings showed that;
- The communities in Thung Kula Ronghai area had long history prior to the prehistory era which is approximately 3000 years ago. Then 2,500 years later, there was habitation and livelihood because of the evidence shown in the place where was suitable for both domestic and inter-state trading. Also there were plentiful of commercial resources such as salt and metal which needed by the ancient kingdoms such as Dvaravati, Khmer, and Lanchang. There were a number of cultural-based tourism attractions such as food, attire, Naka-ordained ceremony of Kui, Sandonta tradition of Khmer, and Rice soul celebration of Lao. Local wisdom tourism were Elephant raising of Thai-Kui, Salt boiling of Thai-Khmer, and Clay pottery crafting of Thai-Lao. Eco-cultural tourism were the Moon river cruising, elephant riding, trekking to 300-year rubber tree and planting the rubber sampling. Most of the community members believed in Buddhism and the spirit of their ancestors or the land.
- Speaking of the current conditions and problems of tourism management in this area, even though there
were diversity of attractions, it was not well supported and recognized from the people, the local business and administrative sectors regarding the information sources, personnel’s, and services.
- Cultural tourism management model of Thai ethnic communities, Thai-Kui, Thai-Khmer and Thai-Lao in
Thung Kula Ronghai area should be managed holistically; local administrative authorities should be the leader together with the participation of local people, basic and higher education institutions under the governance of sufficiency economy of the late King’s philosophy.
In conclusion, the success of cultural tourism management depended on the cooperation of all involves parties aiming for
benefits; creating employment and generating more income. The local authorities should budget financial support. The educational institutions are encouraged to educate people about the projects and tourism-promoted activities to develop the quality of life for community members in the long run.
