Chai Pattana Foundation: The Development for Eliminating Poverty in Thailand

Abstract
His Majesty King BhumibolAdulyadej (Rama IX) has graciously established Chai Pattana Foundation and accepted the role of the honorable president. He appointed his daughter Her Royal Highness Princess MahaChakriSirindhorn to be the President. The foundation was meant to provide quick assistance to the local people in many different places across the country, which is normally marred with high bureaucratic red-tape and regulations regarding the local development. Sometimes, the government’s budget did not reach the places in time of need. The foundation has helped cut short the time for assisting the troubled people, hence, fulfilled the development’s processes. His Majesty’s speech reflected the works of the foundation: “The victory of the country supported by Chai Pattana Foundation is ‘peace’ in which we want Thailand to progress continuously. The meaning of Chai Pattana is the victory of the development. This victory means for the country to have peace, progress, and people’s well-being.”
