The Development of the Communicative English Listening and Speaking Competencies by Using Simulation Tactic for Pratomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract
This research aimed to: (1) develop learning activities by Using simulation tactic for Pratomsuksa 5 students based on the of 75/75 standard, (2) compare the communicative English listening skill (competencies?) by Using simulation tactic foe Pratomsuksa 5 students with the committed 75 percent criterion, (3) compare the communicative English speaking skill (competencies?) by Using simulation tactic for Pratomsuksa 5 students with the committed 75 percent criterion, and (4) to find out the satisfaction on student learning activities by Using simulation tactic. The target group were 14 Pratomsuksa 5 students of Ban Coke Sawang School, Khon Kaen Province. The research tools used in this research were: 8 lesson plans, the 20-item English listening competency test, the 10-item English speaking competency test, and the survey on students’ satisfaction towards learning activities by Using simulation tactic. The statistics used in this research were: percentage (%), mean (), standard deviation (S.D.), and one sample t-test.
The results revealed that: (1) the efficiency of the developed learning activities by using simulation tactic for developing English listening and speaking skills (competencies?) for communication for the Pratomsuksa 5 students was 78.33/79.52 which was higher than the committed 75/75 standard (2) the students’ average communicative English listening competency score was 79.30. Which was higher than the set 75 percent criterion at the level of statistical significance of 0.5. (3) the students’ average communication English speaking competency score was 80. Which was higher than the set 75 percent criterion at the level of statistical significance of 0.5, and (4) the overall students’ satisfaction on learning activities by using simulation tactic was at the highest level ( = 4.77, S.D. = 0.38).
