Design and development of packaging of Mahachanok Mango: Case study of Nong Bua Chum Village community enterprise Grower and Process group, Nong Hin sub district, Nong Kung Sri district, Kalasin

Abstract
This research aimed to 1) design and develop 3 models of packaging of Mahachanok Mango and 2) evaluate the satisfaction of 35 representatives of Nong Bua Chum Village Community Enterprise Grower and Process Group, Nong Hin sub district, Nong Kung Sri district, Kalasin towards Mahachanok Mango packaging designed. The sample group in this research the representatives of a community enterprise group consist of 35 randomly sampled mango growers and processors of Mahachanok mango. Tools used in this research include 1) A questionnaire on the preferences in design and development of Mahachon Mango’s packaging. This questionnaire consists of close-ended questions. 2) The satisfaction questionnaire regarding the packaging of Mahachanok mangoes is conducted using a Rating Scale. Statistical analyses employed for data include percentages, means, and standard deviations.
The research findings indicate that 1) Design and development of the packaging showed that Model 1 is a modern design and more durable than the present design which can contain up to 7-9 Kgs. The graphic design packaging is colorful and contains a beautiful pattern. Illustration is a virtual image of product. A symbol that represents an identity of the community is printed on the packaging. Product details are in Thai, English, and Chinese. Model 2 is made of thick materials which can protect the product. The packaging can contain 5-7 Kgs. This model is easy to grab and hold with side handles. Packaging is prominent of graphic and color which indicated an agricultural product from nature.

Product details are in Thai, English, and Chinese. Model 3 is made of thick and durable materials. The packaging can contain 3-5 Kgs. This package can be handled by side handles and can be opened from the top. The graphical of this model comes in simple colors with interesting pictures. Most of the pictures printed on package are virtual and background picture are related to product. A symbol that represents an identity of the community is printed on the package. Thai, English, and Chinese languages are used to describe product details. 2) The satisfaction assessment revealed that packaging models 1, 2, and 3 were most level that average of 4.64, 4.67, and 4.64, respectively.
