Abstract
Good Governance: Context of Thailand
In 1989, World Bank introduced the word “Good Governance” to use worldwide because they believed that sustainable development could not be achieved without good governance. World Bank had proposed guidelines for “Global Good Governance” that urged countries in Asia and other countries around the world to follow the concept of Good Governance, with the belief that it would allow developing country to sustain their development. In 2007, Thailand began to insert the idea of good governance to improve the country’s development. In the context of Thailand, it was found that Good Governance occurred at the organizational level rather than at national level. Therefore, it was obvious that political, economic, and administrative standards of Thailand had lacked good governance.
