DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH READING COMPREHENSION SKILL BY USING CIRC TECHNIQUE ON EDMODO SOCIAL NETWORK FOR SECONDARY IV STUDENTS

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to compare English reading comprehension skill before and after using CIRC technique on Edmodo social network, to study the ability of English reading comprehension skill during using the treatment, and to study their satisfaction after learning by using CIRC technique on Edmodo social network. The samples were 24 students of Secondary IV in the first semester of 2019 academic year at Kuansuban Wittaya school, Surat Thani Province by simple random sampling. The instruments of research consisted of lesson plans with content validity index of 0.95, the English reading comprehension skill test with reliability index of 0.86, discrimination index of 0.33, and difficulty index of 0.62 and students’ satisfaction questionnaire with reliability index of 0.96. The data were statistically analyzed by using percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent.

            The results of the research showed that the English reading comprehension skill after using CIRC technique on Edmodo social network was increased than before significantly at the 0.05 level. Achievement in English reading comprehension during using the treatment passing the criteria was not less than 70 percent, representing 95.83 percent and the satisfaction score calculated in mean were at the high level.
