A STUDY OF ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP OF ADMINISTRATORS UNDER BUENGKAN PRIMARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The research purposes were  1) to study academic leadership of administrators, 2) to compare academic leadership of administrators, classifying by work position, and work experience and 3) to study the guidelines to develop academic leadership of administrators under Buengkan Primary Educational Service Area Office. The research samples consisted of 77 administrators and 254 teachers, totally 331 samples (Krejcie & Morgan, 1970, referred to Boonchom Srisa-ard, 2011: 43). They were obtained by Stratified random sampling.  The instrument used was a questionnaire with the reliability at 95%.  The statistics used for analyzing the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t – test ( Independent  Samples ), F – test (One  way  ANOVA ) and Scheffe’s Method.The findings of this research were as follows: 

1. Academic leadership of administrators under Buengkan Primary Educational Service Area Office was in ‘much’ level in overall and individual aspect. The development and building an academic standar was in the highest level, followed by supporting a professional development providing motivation for teachers  accordingly. However, examining a student’s advancement was in the lowest level


2. Academic leadership of administrators classified by work position showed that it was not different in overall and individual aspect.


3. Academic leadership of administrators classified by work experience indicated that it was not different in overall and individual aspect.
