Needs of Developing the Operation of Student Affairs Department of Educational Institutions under Khon Kaen Vocational Education

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study the current situation, the desirable conditions and needs of developing the operation of student affairs department of educational institutions under Khon Kaen Vocational Education. Simple random sampling was employed to select 30 educational institution administrators and 240 teachers with the total number of 270 people. The sample size was determined by Krejcie & Morgan table. The instrument used to collect data was a 5-rating questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis comprised percentage, mean, standard deviation and PNI modified index.

          The research results were found that: 1) The current situation of developing the operation of student affairs department of educational institutions under Khon Kaen Vocational Education, in overall, was rated at a moderate level, when considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was career guidance, followed by disciplinary work, the aspect with the lowest average was student welfare. The desirable conditions of developing the operation of student affairs department of educational institutions under Khon Kaen Vocational Education, in overall, were rated at the highest level, when considering each aspect, it was found that the aspect with the highest average was career guidance, followed by special project and community services, the aspect with the lowest average was student welfare. 2) Needs of developing the operation of student affairs department of educational institutions under Khon Kaen Vocational Education arranged according to the importance were found as follows: (1) Student welfare (2) Special project and community services (3) Counseling work (4) Student affairs (5) Disciplinary work and (6) Career guidance.
