A Model For Leadership Development the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional in The Twenty First Century Vocational Education in Northeastern Region

Abstract

The research and development of development format on leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional in 21st century, Northeastern Region aimed to; 1) study the leadership elements of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional in 21st century; 2) examine the leadership and approaches in developing leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional; 3) create its format; and 4) evaluate possibility and usefulness of the format. The study contained 4 stages including; stage 1 – studying leadership elements in 21st century by synthesizing leadership elements from relevant documents and researches regarding leadership development in 21st century, evaluating relevance of the elements by 5 experts and examining leadership and approaches in developing leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional including studying the leadership of 240 participants using questionnaire based on the IOC score range from 0.60-1.00 and the reliability was 0.87; and studying approaches in developing leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional by using semi-structure interview of the 9 representatives from the best practice educational institutes; stage 3 – creating format by providing the results from stage 2 to outline the development format on leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai in 21st century in Northeastern Region vocational education institutes in order to assess format appropriateness by providing focus group discussion of 7 experts using appropriateness evaluation of the format; and stage 4 – assessing possibility and usefulness of the format from 54 samples using purposive sampling, analyzing data and summarizing possibility and usefulness.

The results showed that: 1) Leadership elements of the Board of Association of Future Thai Profession contained 7 elements; (1) visioning; (2) courage to decide, think, speak, do, and change; (3) communication ability; (4) achieving the goal; (5) motivating; (6) building good relationship with the team; and (7) having moral and ethics regarding the 21st century leadership in high level.  2) The Board of Association of Future Thai Professional contained state of leadership at high level and had a development tendency on leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional, which is the project and activity regarding the 21st century leadership in all elements. 3) Development format on leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Profession in 21st century in Northeastern Region vocational education institutes included;   (1) rationale; (2) objective; (3) format essences including part 1 – development following characteristics of the 7 leadership elements, part 2 –development processes, part 3 – project/activity for development; (4) format implementation; and (5) conditions for success of the format that are the most appropriate. 4) Development format on leadership of the Board of Association of Future Thai Professional in 21st century in Northeastern Region vocational education institutes had format possibility and usefulness at the highest level.
