Development of the Components and Indicators of Professional School Administrators Characteristics under the Primary Educational Service Area Office in the Lower Northeast 1

Abstract

The purposes of this research were as follows: 1) to develop factors and indicators of the characteristics of professionals administrators under the primary educational service area office in the lower northeastern region 1; 2) to construct validity of factors and indicators of the characteristics of professionals administrators under the primary educational service area office in the lower northeastern region1; and 3) to assess the concurrent validity of factors and indicators of the characteristics of professionals administrators under the primary educational service area office in the lower northeastern region 1. Data were collected from a sample group of 950 school directors. From the samples, there were 950 school administrators under the Primary Educational Service Area Office in the lower northeastern region 1: Nakhonratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Buriram, and Surin. By assigning the sample to 10 times the indicator obtained from the multi-stage random sampling technique, including the processes of factor extraction and factor rotation by means of the Varimax method, then created a 5-level rating scale questionnaire with a discrimination value between 0.47 and 0.93 and a reliability of 0.922. Data collected of components and indicators to assess the concurrent validity were statistically analyzed by mean score, standard deviation, and t-test for dependent samples.

The research findings were as follows: 1) Components and indicators of the characteristics of professionals and administrators under the primary educational service area office in the lower northeastern region 1 included 10 components and 83 indicators as follows: (1) self-development; (2) good personality; (3) ideological influence; (4) inspiring and taking into account the individual; 5) systematic communication and management; (6) respect for human dignity according to the mechanism of democracy; (7) vision; (8) administrator morals; (9) administrator ethics; and (10) administrator professional ethics. There was a cumulative percentage of the variance of 64.58. 2) Analysis results assessed the concurrent validity and found that the mean was overly inconsistent from every indicator level, with statistical significance at.01. This could confirm that all 83 indicators were found to be accurate for all concurrent validity. (3) to the concurrent validity of factors and indicators of the characteristics

The factors and indicators were determined after an extensive review of literature and interviews with the educated and experienced. The research instrument used for collecting data was a five-point rating scale questionnaire. The questionnaires were analyzed using the discrimination range of 0.470-0.935, and the instrument's reliability was 0.922.
