The Curriculum Development to Encourage Analytical Reading by Teaching Method SQ5R for Matthayomsuksa 1 Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research aim 1) To create and determine the effectiveness of curriculum  development to encourage analytical reading By teaching method SQ5R for matthayomsuksa 1 students and 2) To study the effect of using the Curriculum to Promote Analytical Reading by using SQ5R teaching method for MatthayomSuksa 1 students . The sample in this research was 40 students in the second semester of the academic year 2021 at Unity Concord International School. The research tools were 1) The Curriculum 2)The curriculum manual and 3) The analytical reading test. For mathayom1 students, the data were analyzed by finding the percentage, mean, standard deviation. and t-test dependent samples.

The results of the research showed that 1.) The creation and finding of the effectiveness of the curriculum the average of the suitability of the curriculum was at the highest level (= 4.51, S.D.= 0.62). The average of the suitability of the curriculum manual was at the highest level (= 4.52, S.D.= 0.59). Results of the finding out the effectiveness of the curriculum for the promotion of analytical reading the efficiency of the SQ5R teaching method for matthayom 1 students was at 82.38/85.75 A study of the effects of an analytical reading promotion program by using the SQ5R teaching method for matthayom 1 students, it was found that the students have a statistically significantly higher score after school exams at .05
