Development of Keychain Crafting Skills from Local Wisdom Based on Ta-leaw Belief of Fourth Year High School Students Using Team-based Learning

Abstract

This research seeks to 1) evaluate the proficiency in crafting keychains derived from local wisdom in accordance with the Ta Laew belief among Mathayom 4 students following the implementation of team-based learning, with a benchmark of 80 percent, and 2) assess the satisfaction of Mathayom 4 students subsequent to the enhancement of their keychain-making skills rooted in local wisdom as per the Ta Laew belief through team-based learning. The sample comprised 30 Mathayom 4/6 students enrolled in the Arts-General program during the first semester of the 2023 academic year at Phon School, under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Secondary Education Service Area in Khon Kaen. Participants were selected by cluster random selection, with the classroom as the unit of randomization. The research instruments comprised two learning management plans, with Plan 1 and Plan 2 exhibiting the highest appropriateness. Exhibiting a mean of 5.00 and a standard deviation of 0.00 2) Evaluation of competencies in keychain production with an IOC value ranging from 0.66 to 1.00 and 3) Evaluation of student satisfaction about team-based learning management, with an IOC value of all items equal to 1.00. The statistical analysis included the mean, standard deviation, and the comparison of population averages using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for One Sample. 

The research findings indicated that the comparison of skills in keychain production, rooted in local wisdom, among students post team-based learning exceeded the 80 percent criterion, demonstrating statistical significance at the .05 level, with a mean of 19.17 and a standard deviation of 0.91. The study results indicate that students' satisfaction about skill development in keychain creation, rooted in local wisdom and facilitated through team-based learning management, achieved an overall high level, with a mean of 4.84 and a standard deviation of 0.20.
