Development of Components and Indicators for Safe Educational Institutions of Basic Educational Institutions in the Lower Northeastern Region 1

Abstract

This research seeks to 1) formulate components and indicators for secure educational institutions within the Lower Northeastern Region 1, 2) assess the structural reliability of these components and indicators, and 3) evaluate the accuracy in accordance with the stipulated conditions of the components and indicators for secure educational institutions in the Lower Northeastern Region 1. The study's sample group comprised 465 school administrators or acting administrators from basic educational institutions in the Lower Northeastern Region 1 during the 2023 academic year. A multi-stage random sampling method was employed to develop a research instrument in the form of a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. The expert-validated questionnaire got a reliability value of 0.98. Exploratory Factor Analysis was employed to evaluate and systematically categorize the indicators, validated by statistical metrics, to diminish the number of sub-variables, with Varimax Rotation utilized for orthogonal rotation. Subsequently, the identified indicators were utilized to formulate a questionnaire, which was disseminated to a designated group of school administrators from basic educational institutions in the Lower Northeastern Region 1, all of whom had received at least one Safe School Award in the past decade, comprising a total of 30 individuals. The data were evaluated by comparing the mean to the criterion (µ = 3.51) by the t-test.

The study identified six components and seventy-two indicators for safe educational institutions in the Lower Northeastern Region 1, which account for 72.715 percent of the variation of the indicators. Furthermore, the assessment with the established group demonstrated statistically significant outcomes for each indication, validating that all 72 indicators are precise in accordance with the circumstances.
