Creating the Skills Package for English Writing Skills by Using Active Learning Teaching Techniques of Prathomsuksa 5 Students

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to 1) examine the quality of developing a skills package for writing skills using the Active Learning teaching method, 2) assess the English writing skills score, and 3) investigate students' satisfaction with their English writing skills. This research utilized a sample group of 52 students from Prathomsuksa 5, Bo Ploi Kindergarten School, and 16 students from Prathomsuksa 5, Ban Nong Krathum School, selected through cluster sampling. The research tools included 1) the English writing skill package, which was taught using active learning techniques. 2) The pretest and posttests included a multiple-choice food quiz and a satisfaction questionnaire, both of which were part of the English writing skill package that was taught using Active Learning techniques. The research employed statistics such as mean, percentage, and standard deviation, along with the t-test.  

The research findings showed that 1) the package for developing English writing skills, which utilized active learning teaching techniques, demonstrated consistency with the IOC (Index of Item-Objective Congruence) value, which ranged from 0.66 to 1.0. 2) The results of comparing English writing skill scores after learning through active learning teaching techniques of students at Bo Ploi Kindergarten School were higher than before using active learning teaching techniques with statistical significance at the .05 level, and the results of comparing English writing skill scores after learning through active learning teaching techniques of students at Ban Nong Krathum School were higher than before learning to use active learning teaching techniques with statistical significance at the .05 level, and 3) The study resulted in the satisfaction of students at Bo Phloi Kindergarten School and Ban Nong Krathum School overall being at a high level.
