A study of Teachers' Participation in Academic Administration in Schools under Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization

Abstract

The purpose of this study were 1) to study the level of teachers' participation in academic administration in schools under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization, and 2) to compare teachers' participation in academic administration in schools under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization categorized by the level of education, the working experience, and the size of school. The sample of this study consisted of 320 teachers who worked in the schools under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization, in the 2017 academic year. They were chosen by using the multi-stage random sampling. The instruments employed in the research was 5 Likert rating scale questionnaire. Statistical procedures for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, F-test, and Scheffe’s Method if the statistical difference was found.

The research findings were as follow

  1. The overall level of teachers' participation in academic administration in schools under

Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administrative Organization is high. The level in each category is also high.  The highest average is the participation in the development of the learning process and followed by the participation in the development of the curriculum, respectively.

  1. There are different levels of education involved in the academic administration of the teachers under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization. Furthermore, there was no difference in the overall and individual aspects of the school.
  2. Teachers under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization who have different working experience involved in academic administration in the school, both the overall and the individual aspects. Statistically significant at the 0.05 level.
  3. Teachers under the Nakhon Ratchasima Provincial Administration Organization who work in the different schools have different participation in academic administration in the school, both the overall and the individual aspects. Statistically significant at the 0.05 level.
