The Relationship Between the Transformational Leadership of the School Administrators and the Operation of Student Support System under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area 23

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to; 1) study the transformational leadership and the operation on student support system of the school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 23 and; 2) study the relationship between the transformational leadership of the school administrators and the operation on student support system under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Areas 23. The sample group consisted of school administrators and teachers with the total number of 335 people. The instrument was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics comprising frequency, percentage, mean, Standard Deviation and Pearson’s product moment correlation.

The research results showed that: 1) The transformational leadership of the school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 23 was rated at a high level. When considering by aspects, it was found that all aspects were rated at a high level. The aspects with the highest average value were idealized influence, followed by inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation respectively; while, the aspect with the lowest average was individualized consideration. The operation on student support system of school administrators under the Office of Secondary Educational Service Area 23, in overall, was rated at a high level. When considering by aspects, it was found that all aspects were at a high level. The aspects with the highest average value were knowing individual students, followed by screening students and preventing and solving problem, respectively and the aspect with lowest average values ​​was student development and promotion. 2) The relationship between the transformational leadership and the operation of student support system of the school administrators under the Office of Secondary Education Service Area 23 was positively in a low level with statistical significance at .01.
