Factors Affecting the Effectiveness of World - Class Standard Schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area Offices in the Lower Northeastern Region 1

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: 1) to investigate the level of the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools, 2) to study the level of factors affecting the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools, 3) to study the factors affecting the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools, and 4) to develop the guidelines of factors development for Thai world class standard schools. This research was employed by these two steps: (1) To study the factors affecting the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools. The data were collected from 420 participants obtained by purposive sampling from 42 Thai world class standard schools under the Secondary Educational Service Area Offices in the Lower Northeastern Region 1 in Academic Year 2019. A research tool was a constructed 5 – level rating scale questionnaire with the correspondence index value between 0.80 – 1.00 and the reliability value between 0.748 – 0.931. The statistics used for the analysis were mode, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. (2) To design the factors’ development of the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools followed by the interviews of seven experts in educational administration.

The results were presented as the followings: 1) Levels of the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools were generally at a high level. There were respective and descending aspects: (1) the responsibility for the world society, (2) the beyond thinking, (3) the creativity and productivity, and (4) the academic superiority. The aspect of communicating at least two languages was at a moderate level. 2) Levels of factors affecting the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools were generally at a high level.  When considering by individual aspects, there were two aspects with the highest level; strategic goal setting school structure and teaching and learning management. The other aspects were at a high level, namely being a professional teacher, morale and motivation to work and learning management process. 3) the factors affecting the effectiveness of Thai world class standard schools revealed as high as 97.30 % There were six aspects with the statistical significance: (1) the process of teaching and learning, (2) the competency of professional teacher, (3) the direction and goals of the strategic plan, (4) the morale in work practice of teachers, (5) the school atmosphere and (6) the school structure management. 4) The guidelines of factors’ development of the effectiveness for Thai world class standard schools significantly consisted of: (1) the process of teaching and learning, (2) the competency of professional teacher and (3) the direction and goals of the strategic plan.
