Development guidelines for integrated sustainable Tourism in Nonthaburi Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study tourism resources of Nonthaburi Province 2) conduct the internal and external SWOT analysis 3) guideline for developing integrated sustainable tourism in Nonthaburi Province. In this study, the researcher used qualitative research which by interviewing the opinion over the tourism of Nonthaburi Province. The sample group is total 31 persons, who come from government, private sectors, local people and tourists.

According to the research findings, it was found that significant tourism resources of the province in term of natural resource is Ko Kret Island is the most popular the second one is such as Charamphrkriet Temple, Pormatkityawiharn Temple, Kemaphitaram Temple, Charow Temple, Chotikaram Temple, Chompuwek Temple, Phrasart Temple, Srima north and south Temple, Sriyai Temple, Rathphrakongtum Temple, Kohphraya Jeng Temple, Philom Temple, Aumpawan Temple, Saniwong Temple, Baromnachapisek Anusorn Temple the third one is  the resources of festivals, art, and cultures of tourism in Nonthaburi Province general opinion is targeted at good item and fruit festivals of Nonthaburi Province which is the art, cultural, and traditional resources being worthy to travel 4) tourism activity resources is activities of floating market by visiting local ways of life 5) the tourism resources in service sectors the most opinion is on tourism resources in service sectors with public highway accommodating the extension of AEC: The expressway Sriratch bus transportation, passenger ship, travelling boat, ad electric train

When it comes to SWOT Analysis for developing integrated sustainable tourism in Nonthaburi Province, it was found that the strength for developing tourism in Nonthaburi Province is over ancient temples and historical sites that reflect the trail of history. Meanwhile, the opinion over the weakness for developing tourism in Nonthaburi Province is on the loss of agricultural society due to the expansion of the city, the opportunity in developing tourism in Nonthaburi. The best opportunity for tourism management in Nonthaburi Province is to become the center of growing durian in the world while building the brand of the province as the global tourism destination. As for the opinion about the obstacles in developing tourism in Nonthaburi Province is on the plain waterside location easily susceptible to natural disasters. According to the analysis from a group of sample population, so the research would like to propose the guidelines for developing integrated sustainable tourism in Nonthaburi Province by integrating tourism resources covering four main aspects, which are environment, economy, society, culture, and psychology.
