The public participation in Kui ethnic cultural conservation, Ban Ku,Ku sub-district, Prangku district, Sisaket province

Abstract
The purposes of this research are 1) to study the present status of people’s participation in cultural conservation of Kui community at Ku village, Ku sub-district, Sisaket province and 2) to suggest the ways of participation in cultural conservation permanently of Kui community at Ku village, Ku sub-district, Sisaket province. This research is the mixed method consisted of Quantitative research by collecting the data with questionnaire from sample of 204 households, frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation and Qualitative research with the structured in-depth interview from 14 key informants and then bring the data from in-depth interview to synthesize and analyze the data by the use of Content Analysis Technique and present the results of Descriptive research.
The research result war found as follow:
- The present status of people’s participation in cultural conservation of Kui community at Ku village, Ku sub-district, Sisaket province found that sum total of participation level at high level (xˉ=4.15, SD.=.83) and when has considered it as each field found that (1) participation on the decision at high level (xˉ=3.99, SD.=.87), when has considered it as each field found that participation in consultation and considering projects that may have problems toward Kui culture conservation having the most level (xˉ =4.02, SD.=.88) because Kui people realize the importance of traditional culture, it can cause loving consciousness and value highly things that they have and are afraid that good culture will be lost, so it can cause the participation process in Kui cultural conservation of community continuously, (2) participation in management at high level (xˉ =4.19, SD.=.83), when has considered it each item found that participation in doing activities with the youth in Kui cultural conservation having the most level (xˉ =4.38, SD.=.79) because now Kui people want to conserve the culture to have permanence, so they give precedence (to) children and youth to enter to have the roles in more Kui cultural conservation promotion on the little guide management, promotion to have dressing in school with the local cloth of Kui ethnic group which it is cultural absorption and pride in the sense of loving and valuing highly cultural heritage of ancestor well and not being extinct from community, (3) participation in getting benefits at high level (xˉ =4.36, SD.=.75), when has considered it each item found that participation in gladness and pride when the projects cause benefits toward oneself and community at the most level (xˉ =4.46, SD.=.64) because they have got benefits together, whatever it is benefit, it is a part for people who have the roles in being a part of activities, so it can make activities create economic value for community. People have got benefits in activities management and caused development to be cultural tourism community until now and (4) participation on the evaluation at high level (xˉ =4.05, SD.=.89), when has considered it each item found that participation in asking for cooperation from organizations to get involved for following up performance for community development at the most level (xˉ =4.14, SD.=.91). Since community has developed it as cultural tourism community that has been supported from Sisaket province culture in promotion to cause tourism, so it can make institutes related to have entered to support in doing activities different from external organization by giving precedence (to) activities that community has compiled and set up, so it can make those activities to have been promoted and cause continuity in developing the fields too.
2.The ways of participation in cultural conservation permanently of Kui community at Ku village consisted of 8 ways (1) participation process in Kui cultural restoration occurred from people’s cooperation in Kui community that realize problems and have ideas in solving problems in same direction, (2) promotion and conservation, now Kui community operates to promote cultural tourism conservation corresponding provincial policy starting from development by building people’s power in community of small group first and then further develop to cause community tourism bringing the community capital to present as tourism base, (3) participation process in responsible duty occurred from compiling small group and assignment management as capability and skill by main mainstay in propelling, being the leader of community and having the duty in assigning and coordinating for community members to join by having main target; namely Kui people’s culture conservation management to have development and their progenitor preservation for lineage to see working determination, (4) participation process in planning cultural conservation aimed at future by community having the ways in planning the activity management for conservation; namely giving precedence from small issues and beginning to extend network for members who have joined with willingness for operating permanently, (5) community process, (6) looking for benefits from cultural conservation together, mutual benefit of people in community; namely benefits that are mental happiness and benefits that can touch such as community economy that is the income of community members, (7) preparation toward the change of social trend, community has the ideas in preparation toward the change of society that it is close to home and can prepare the readiness toward the change of social trend penetratively and (8) conserving permanently, the ways operating at present of Kui community to cause permanence on the cultural conservation of Kui community at Ku village by aiming to human mainly, bringing the youth and young generation entering to participate in more operation, emphasizing to bring children and youth in community to learn culture and history of community and the method as mentioned above will be inheritance and Kui cultural conservation stably and permanently.
