Establishing a Cultural Center and Local Community Museum as a Learning Center for Community Development at Ban Pia Nam, Nong Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, SiSaKet Province

Abstract

This article aimed to develop the potential of the cultural center and local Community museum at Ban Pia Nam, Nong Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, SiSaKet Province for the Learning by exploring, searching for history of cultural objects in the community, making an account and database of community cultural objects and analysis of the potential to implement community museum management as a social learning center through community participation. The information was collected from documents, field trips, and in-depth interviews from key informants including the monks of Wat Pia Nam and the museum administration committees, by using the form to record field data, group discussions, and analyzing them in descriptive analysis ways.

The results of the research showed that the Cultural Center and Community Museum of Ban Pia Nan School, Mueang District, SiSaKet Province had the potential to operate the community museum management as a social learning center with the participation of Community management of cultural objects and exhibiting as a local museum that stored the stories of Isan people's wisdom and the way of life of the Ban Pia Nam community. There was a clear management and objectives in setting up the center, and overseeing the administration of the Center. Ban Pia Nam School, was considered to be the closest to the center and played a very important role in the care and develop the center for the Learning Center for Community Development in further progress. It can be said that the management potential is due to three important conditions: 1) the local pride of the people as part of the history of national civilization; 2) The management of the participation of people in the community and various organizations, both government agencies and local government organizations, with sharing and learning between local people and non-local people; 3) There are clear principles and guidelines.
