Study of fundamental data and current condition for developing life and family for lower secondary school students

Abstract

The main purposes of this research (Phase 1) are to study the fundamental data and current conditions for life and family development for the lower secondary school students which can be divided into 3 stages: 1. reviewing the related research papers and curriculum development; 2. collecting data by distributing questionnaires to school administrators, health education teachers, 10th-grade students and their parents based on 11 schools in the network of the Saint Gabriel Foundation of Thailand; and 3. analyzing data by using statistical measures. It was found that: 1. both of health education teachers and 10th-grade students shared their common views that the target the core curriculum (201) and related activities should be more interesting, up-to-date, applicable for students’ daily life. 2. Academic instructions should be promoted by using games as well as students’ attitudes should be involved. 3. All respondents expressed their interests and demands that the development of life and family curriculum should be executed.
