การแปลบทเพลงจากมิวสิคัลภาษาเยอรมันเรื่อง Tanz der Vampire (Translation of selected songs from the German musical Tanz der Vampire)

Abstract

งานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับการแปลเพลงภาษาเยอรมันเป็นภาษาไทยเพื่อใช้ขับร้องยังมีไม่มากนัก จึงควรส่งเสริมให้มีการพัฒนาความเข้าใจในเรื่องนี้ งานวิจัยนี้มุ่งศึกษาการแปลบทเพลงจากมิวสิคัลเรื่อง Tanz der Vampire จากภาษาเยอรมันเป็นภาษาไทยเพื่อใช้ขับร้อง โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อจัดทำบทแปลเพลง 7 บทเพลงที่คัดเลือกมาโดยใช้หลักการแปลของ ปีเตอร์ โลว์ บันทึกเสียงร้องบทแปลเพลงและจัดทำเป็นอัลบั้มเพลง ตลอดจนศึกษาความคิดเห็นของกลุ่มผู้ฟัง ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ในการแปลบทเพลงทั้ง 7 บทเพลง มีการปรับให้เหมาะสมในแต่ละบริบท โดยคำนึงถึงการสามารถนำไปใช้ขับร้องจริงได้เป็นหลักแต่ในขณะเดียวกันก็ยังรักษาการสื่อความหมาย ความเป็นธรรมชาติ จังหวะ และสัมผัสให้ใกล้เคียงต้นฉบับมากที่สุดซึ่งการแปลตามตัวหรือตามโครงสร้างของภาษาต้นฉบับนั้น อาจไม่สามารถนำมาใช้ขับร้องได้ เนื่องจากความแตกต่างของภาษาต้นทางและภาษาปลายทาง ในกระบวนการแปลยังพบว่าส่วนใหญ่มีการใช้เทคนิคการสลับตำแหน่งคำเพื่อให้บทแปลเพลงสามารถนำไปขับร้องได้อย่างเป็นธรรมชาติ และสื่อสารความรู้สึกของเพลงให้มีความใกล้เคียงกับต้นฉบับมากที่สุด ผลการประเมินโดยผู้ฟังพบว่า ทุกบทแปลนั้นสามารถเข้าใจได้ง่าย มีความไพเราะ สามารถสื่อให้ผู้ฟังเข้าใจและรับรู้ถึงบุคลิกของตัวละครได้ แต่ควรปรับปรุงด้านการเลือกคำให้มีเสียงวรรณยุกต์สอดคล้องกับทำนองเพลงโดยยังสามารถสื่อความหมายตามหลักภาษาไทยได้และไม่ผิดเพี้ยนจนก่อให้เกิดความสับสนต่อผู้ฟัง เพื่อเพิ่มความไพเราะของบทเพลงมากยิ่งขึ้น ข้อค้นพบที่ได้สามารถนำไปใช้ในการเผยแพร่มิวสิคัลจากภาษาต่างประเทศโดยการแปลเป็นภาษาไทย

Research on the singable translation of German songs into Thai remains limited; therefore, greater understanding of this area should be encouraged. This study investigates the translation of selected songs from the musical Tanz der Vampire (Dance of the Vampires) from German into Thai for singing purposes. The objectives of the study are to produce Thai translations of seven selected songs based on Peter Low’s Pentathlon model, record vocal performances of the translated songs and compile them into an album, and examine listeners’ opinions toward the translated versions. The findings indicate that the translation of all seven songs required contextual adaptation with prioritiy given to singability. At the same time, the translations seek to preserve meaning, naturalness, rhythm, and rhyme in order to remain as close as possible to the original compositions. Literal or structurally direct translation is often unsuitable for singing due to differences between the source and the target language. The study also finds that word repositioning is frequently employed to enable the translated lyrics to be sung naturally while conveying the emotional tone and essence of the original songs. The evaluation results from listeners indicate that all translated songs are easy to understand, melodious, and effective in communicating the personalities of the characters. However, improvements in word selection are recommended to ensure that tonal patterns align more closely with the melody while maintaining accurate meaning in Thai and avoiding potential confusion among listeners. Such adjustments may further enhance the musicality of the translated songs. The findings of this study may contribute to promoting foreign-language musicals through Thai translations.
