บทคัดย่อ

งานวิจัยเรื่อง “การท่องเที่ยวแบบเมือง ธุรกิจสถานบันเทิงยามราตรีและผลกระทบเชิงสังคมและวัฒนธรรมในเมืองเก่าภูเก็ต” มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1.) เพื่อศึกษาโครงสร้างและลักษณะทางประชากรศาสตร์ของผู้พักอาศัยในเขตชมุชนเมืองเก่าภูเก็ต 2.) เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความคิดเห็นของประชาชนในเขตเมืองเก่าภูเก็ตต่อผลกระทบเชิงสังคมและวัฒนธรรมจากการเปิดสถานบันเทิงยามราตรี 3.) เพื่อศึกษาวิธีการแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นจากการเปิดสถานบันเทิงยามราตรีของประชาชนในเขตเมืองเก่าภูเก็ต มีวิธีการศึกษาแบบการวิจัยเชิงพรรณนาโดยมีแบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการรวบรวมข้อมูลจากผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามจำนวน 560 คน ผลวิจัยพบว่า ในภาพรวมผลกระทบเชิงสังคมและวัฒนธรรมจากการเปิดธุรกิจสถานบันเทิงยามราตรีในเขตเมืองเก่ายังอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง อย่างไรก็ตาม ชุมชนแสดงความกังวลต่อปัญหาสำคัญสามด้าน คือ ปัญหาการดื่มสุราและยาเสพติดที่เพิ่มขึ้นในกลุ่มเยาวชน ปัญหาการค้าประเวณีและปัญหาอาชญากรรมภายในชุมชน นอกจากนี้ การวิจัยยังชี้ว่า ความร่วมมือจากคนในชุมชน การเจรจากับภาคธุรกิจรวมทั้งการเรียกร้องการดูแลจากภาครัฐเป็นวิธีการช่วยบรรเทาผลกระทบเชิงลบและรณรงค์การจัดการการท่องเที่ยวแบบเมืองที่ยั่งยืน ผลการศึกษามีประโยชน์โดยตรงในการช่วยวางแผนการจัดการการท่องเที่ยวแบบเมืองอย่างสร้างสรรค์

Abstract

The study of urban tourism, nightlife entertainment business and its impacts on the socio-culture ofPhuket’s Old Town intends 1. to describe the present socio-demographic profile of residents in Phuket Old’sTown, 2. to analyse the perception of the local residents towards socio-cultural tourism impacts arising fromthe opening of nightlife entertainment businesses within their community, 3. to explore methods that residentsthink will be most useful when dealing with impacts. This study employs a descriptive study approach byusing a questionnaire survey with 560 respondents living in Phuket’s Old Town. It reveals that overall thesocio-cultural impacts from the opening of nightlife entertainment is moderate. However, the community hasshown their concerns over the drinking, drug, prostitution and crime problems. Nonetheless, the study indicatesthat community’s cooperation, discussion with business owners as well as support from the government areways to alleviate negative impacts while promoting sustainable urban tourism. In conclusion, this study willbe useful for the effective future urban tourism planning.
