Condition and Obstacles of Border Trade at a Border Crossing Station of Pueng klueng Village, Umphang District, Tak Province

Abstract
The research studied condition and obstacles of border trade at a border crossing station of Puengklueng village, Umphang district, Tak province. Groups of informants were import-export merchants using Puengklueng border crossing station and representatives from related state agencies. The data is collected by conducting surveys and interviews. The obtained data were analyzed by Content Analysis. The findings found that general condition of the border trade is trade between Thailand and Myanmar. The border crossing station is a natural trade channel. Major export items includes agricultural machinery, construction equipment, and consumer goods. Major import items includes cattle, and agricultural products such as betel nuts, coconuts, dry chillies and antimony ore. The main problem and obstacles of the border trade is inconvenient transportation.
