Development of Strategies to Promote Quality of Life for the aging in Loei Province

Abstract
The purposes of this research were to develop, implement and evaluate the strategies to improve the quality of life of the aging in Loei Province. This study is a Participatory Action Research that employed both quantitative and qualitative methods. The focus group discussion techniques, a brain storming session, an in-depth interview, and a participatory observation were used to obtain the qualitative data. Questionnaires and the ageing’s health profiles were used to obtain the quantitative data. From a development of the strategies to develop the quality of life of the aging in Loei province, 4 strategies were obtained. These strategies were as follows : 1) the strategy to improve the well-being of the ageing, 2) the strategy to improve the advancement of family relations, 3) the strategy to promote the participation of the ageing in the community cultural preservation, and 4) the strategy to support the participation of ageing in developing economy of society/community. After the implementation of the activities of all four strategies to develop the quality of life of the aging in Loei province for two quarters, the evaluation of the strategies had shown that the ageing participated in different activities. They were healthy, happy, and free from loneliness and stress. They also had economic well-being. Products created by the ageing group also created supplementary jobs and income.
