The Approach to Improve Arabic Language Usage in the Hospital Services: A Case of Bangkok Hospital’s Officers

Abstract
This research aims to (1) analyze Arabic language competencies in speaking skills of examinees (2) synthesize linguistic characteristics of the Arabic language usage in the medical services, and (3) propose an approach to improve Arabic language competencies for hospital officers. This research applied a mixed method, by collecting data from 73 staff of Bangkok Hospital from different departments. Then, conduct the focus group to analyze the language problem and suggest the approach to improve the Arabic usage in medical services. The results showed that, generally, the language development in speaking skill appears in according with the interlanguage theory. The researchers propose the language characteristics of intermediate level as a model, which the researcher terms 'Pre-Arabic Pidgin Nurse', in addition with the correction of errors in articulation and increase the medical services vocabularies domain. This language variety can actually communicate. Moreover, it simplifies the grammatical complexity, eases to learn, and be suitable to extend for use in other service areas.
