Abstract

ABSTRACT


The purposes of this study were: 1) to study the level of the characteristics of the professional school administrators based on the opinions of administrators and teachers in the schools under the office of basic education commission in Nakhon Sawan Province. 2) to study guideline to develop of the characteristics of the professional school administrators under the office of basic education commission in Nakhon Sawan Province. The research process has 2 phases: 1) study the level of the characteristics of the professional school administrators In Nakhon Sawan province, classified by 655 school administrators and 8,560 teachers, totally 9,215 people. 2) study guideline to develop of the characteristics of the professional school administrators in Nakhon Sawan Province, informants were 9 experts. The research instrument were a questionnaires and Structured Interviews. The data were analyzed to calculate percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test and ANOVA. The findings of this research were as follows: 1) the level of the characteristics of the professional school administrators based on the opinions of administrators and teachers as a whole were at a high level, when compared said characteristics as the position in general was also found different at a .05 level of statistical significance; however, it had no difference when classified by official age. 2) the guideline to develop of the characteristics of the professional school administrators in Nakhon Sawan Province: 2.1) management administration; administrators must have strategic planning arrangements interpersonal, school administrators and management team under new public management 2.2) academic; administrators should be aware of the importance of academic work and develop teachers to focus on research-based learning. 2.3) Self-development; administrators should develop themselves in the knowledge of modern management and apply in the organization, administrators should be interested in finding time to learn about, especially the important principles. For management in schools is important 2.4) System management; administrators should organize the system examine and promote the use of technology and innovation in educational administration in order to be able to manage the organization toward high performance organization. 2.5) Society and communities; administrators must develop themselves in time management for the community participation in the management system activities related to the community by following up and evaluating focus on participation in all sectors 2.6) Morality and Ethics, administrators should act in accordance with good governance behave as a role model which will affect leadership.
