Abstract
Research on Identity and existence of Mon ethnic music It is qualitative research. The objective is to study the identity and existence of Mon ethnic music. In the area of Ban Bang Kradi Bangkok, Ban Chet Riw, Samut Sakhon Province, Ban Wang Ka, Kanchanaburi Province The tools used in the research include: Voice recorder DVR Key informant interview form and general information The research results found that Mon ethnic musical identity is created through social processes. Music, dress, and language use are important things that define Mon identity. that still maintains its culture firmly Music is a part that permeates the way of life of the villagers, traditions, ceremonies, and various festivals of the Mon people. The band that plays an important role is the Mon string quartet. Piphat Mon Band The idea is to create an identity through music culture in cooperation with the villagers. Community agencies Choose a group of people who are interested in music as a point of creating work. Together they formed a band to represent restoration and dissemination. can be reproduced through the social arena Make people remember more Some types of music have changed and mixed with outside cultures to some extent.
