Guidelines for Digital Competence Development of Teachers in Ping Khong Subdistrict Educational Quality Development Center under Chiang Mai Primary Educational Service Area Office 3

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) investigate the necessary conditions for digital competence development of teachers in Ping Khong Subdistrict Educational Quality Development Center, Chiang Mai Primary Education Service Area Office 3, and 2) study the guidelines for digital competence development of teachers in Ping Khong Subdistrict Education Quality Development Center, Chiang Mai Primary Education Service Area Office 3. For quantitative data, the study surveyed the total population of 70 teachers. For qualitative data, the study interviewed 8 people, including experts, school administrators, and teachers. The research tools used including questionnaires and interview forms. Data analysis included frequency, percentage, Priority Needs Index (PNI), and content analysis. The results of the research showed that there was a need for teachers to develop digital competencies in all areas. The areas with the greatest needs for development were digital usage, digital transformation adoption, digital tools for problem-solving, and digital understanding, respectively. For the guidelines of digital competence development of teachers, it was found that school administrators should survey the needs of teachers for training and development, support teachers with the necessary equipment for using technology, inspire and stimulate teachers to develop themselves, promote various operations by having experts to suggest and help solving the problems, and support the maintenance of technology tools for teaching and doing other works in educational institutions
