The Development of Environmental Science Competencies on the Humans and Sustainability of Environment Using Evidence-based Learning for 12th Grade Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The objectives of this research were to study approaches of evidence-based learning management to promote environmental science competencies and to study the results of evidence-based learning management to promote environmental science competencies. The research participants were 30 twelfth grade students. The instruments used in the research are: Evidence-based learning plans that promote environmental science competencies on the topic of humans and environmental sustainability, environmental science competency test form, work sheets, and teacher reflection form. Data was analysed through content analysis and data creditability was done by resource triangulation. The results of the research were as follows: Evidence-based learning strategies should draw on real-world problems and circumstances and provide students with easy access to trustworthy local information to motivate them to understand the problems and proof sources. Use questions to get groups thinking about potential solutions as you examine the validity of evidence from dependable sources, discuss their reliability, and determine whether explanations are supported by credible evidence. The results of the development of environmental science competencies from evidence-based learning management. The component of environmental science competency that students develop the most is decision making for action with data. It uses an evaluation of various sources of evidence and the application of creative thinking and systems thinking to restore and sustain the environment was at 70.00, followed by showing hope and respect for diverse perspectives in seeking solutions to problems from the social-ecological crisis was at 53.81, and the explanation of the impact of human actions on the Earth system was at 50.47, respectively.
