Abstract

This research is action research. It aimed to study the results of the improvement of the agenda delivery process for the administration team’s meeting at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Prince of Songkla University with a focus on reducing waste in activities. It introduced a new work approach by applying lean manufacturing. The study involved utilizing a Flow Process Chart to analyze the work process, identify problems, and eliminating waste using ECRS principles. The effectiveness of the process improvement was summarized using descriptive statistics, including frequency and percentage. The research revealed that work activities were reduced from 26 to 15 activities (reduced by 42.31%), non-value-added activities reduced from 16 activities to 0 (reduced by 100%), and necessary but non-value-added activities reduced from 3 to 2 activities (reduced by 33.34%). The wasteful activity that was reduced the most was transportation, which decreased from 10 activities to 0 (decreased by 100%). The total operation time was shortened from 1,020 to 482 minutes (shortened by 52.75%). The paper usage dropped from 13 to 2 sheets (dropped by 84.62%). The cost of paper usage was reduced from 6.61 to 0.94 Baht (reduced by 84.62%). This research showed that the application of lean manufacturing significantly enhanced the work process by eliminating waste, reducing work activities, operation time, cost, and paper usage.
