Abstract

This research is a developmental aimed: 1) develop a science learning management model based on the STEM education concept integrated with local wisdom; 2) investigate students' creative thinking; and 3) study student satisfaction. The sample consisted of 18 sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included: 1) STEM-based learning management plans integrated with local wisdom, comprising activities on "rice cracker shape design" and "the shapes and puffing of rice crackers"; 2) a creative thinking assessment; and 3) a satisfaction evaluation form. The research results revealed that: (1) the STEM-based model science learning management integrated with local wisdom for grade 6 students consisted of two main activities: activity 1 (shape design) and activity 2 (the shapes and expansion of rice crackers); (2) after participating in the learning activities, the students' overall creative thinking was at a good level (Mean = 2.38, S.D. = 0.34); and (3) the students' overall satisfaction with the learning management was at a high level (Mean = 4.08, S.D. = 0.16).
