ความสำคัญของเศรษฐศาสตร์แนวพุทธและรูปแบบประเพณีใหม่หลังการล่มสลายทางการเงิน

บทความต่อไปนี้เป็นเนื้อหาส่วนหนึ่งของการบรรยายที่จะมีขึ้นที่การประชุมวิชาการ 2nd International conference of the Buddhist Economics Research Platform ณ มหาวิทยาลัยอุบลราชธานี จังหวัดอุบลราชธานี ในวันที่ 9-11 เมษายน 2552 ประเด็นหลักของบทความนี้คือ การเปลี่ยนแปลงของโลกไปยังเศรษฐกิจยุคหลังอุตสาหกรรม (Post-Industrial Economy) ซึ่งอยู่ บนพื้นฐานของการสร้างคุณค่าของสิ่งที่จับต้องไม่ได้ การเชื่อมโยงอีกครั้งไปยังแนวความคิดทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจในช่วงก่อนทันสมัย (Premodern) ซึ่งอาจเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เราทำการศึกษารูปแบบเศรษฐกิจและการเมืองในปัจจุบัน โดยบทความนี้ได้ถกเถียงในประเด็นสำคัญที่แสดงให้ เห็นถึงประโยชน์ของการศึกษาแนวคิดของมนุษย์ในช่วงก่อนทันสมัย
