The Quality of Working Life and Dedication to Work of Non-Commissioned Officers

Abstract

The purposes of this research were: (1) to study the level of quality of working life, (2) to study the level of dedication to work and (3) to present the relationship between the level of quality of working life and dedication to work of non-commissioned officers. The population consisted of a non-commissioned officer. The samples were 400 informants. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The reliability was 0.981. The statistics used to analyze the data were mean, standard deviation, and Pearson product-moment correlation. The results of the research were as follows: (1) The level of quality of working life was high overall, social relevance was ranked the highest, and adequate and fair compensation was in the lowest rank. (2) The level of dedication to work was high overall, ‘Chitta’ (the determination and concentration on the work) was ranked the highest, and ‘Chanta’ (the love, the desire to work) was in the lowest rank. (3) The relationship between the level of quality of working life and dedication to work of non-commissioned officers was a high positive correlation (r = .664) at a statistically significant level of 0.01.
