Learning Processes and Sustainable Development According to the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy : A Case Study of the Pawa Village Agro -forestry Community, Kaeng Hang Maeo District, Chanthaburi Province

Abstract

          The objectives of this research were to study learning processes and sustainable development according to the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy in the agroforestry community located in Phawa Sub-district, Kaeng Hang Maeo District, Chanthaburi Province and to propose the proper model in the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy application for the sustainable development. The agroforestry community situated in Phawa Sub-district, Kaeng Hang Maeo District, Chanthaburi Province was used as the research area. The interdisciplinary research based on the cross-disciplinary research approach was used in this study. The historical research method with the data collection by reviewing related literatures, interviews, observations, and triangulation as the data validation was applied in this study. The findings showed the 5 successful case studies including the case study of Boon Plong Khuen Thin Festival, the case study of Aran Piyawong Forest Park, the case study of agroforestry network in Phawa Sub-district, the case study of local product group, and the case study of coupon trading based community. The model of community culture is considered as the appropriate driven model used to strengthen the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for the sustainable development.
