Needs Assessment in the Preparation of the Teacher License Exam for Students in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University Chon Buri Campus

Abstract
The purposes of this study were to assess and to compare need in the preparation of the teacher license exam for students in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University Chon Buri Campus, and to provide guidance in preparing for the teacher license exam. The sample was 144 students at Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University Chon Buri Campus with stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a rating-scale questionnaire. The data were analyzed by mean, standard deviation, modified priority need index, and independent sample t-test. The research results showed that:
- priority of needs assessment in the preparation of the teacher license exam for students in Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Thailand National Sports University Chon Buri Campus was shown from highest to lowest as follows: 1) English for communication, 2)teaching profession, 3) subject of physical education, 4) Thai language for communication, and 5)digital technology for education.
- Students in Physical Education and Health Education (dual majors) needed to prepare the teacher license exam in physical education subject more than students in Physical Education with statistical significance at the level of .05, while there was no difference in other aspects.
- Suggestions to guide the preparation of the teacher license exam were as follows:
1) there Should be an action plan for the preparation of the teacher license exam; 2) the exam instructions and criteria should be indicated; 3) the curriculum should be prepared in accordance with in preparing of the teacher license exam; 4) there should be additional short and long training for students; and 5) it should promote internal activities related to the preparation for the teacher license exam.
