Application of King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Philosophy of Good Governance to the Problem of Stray Dogs

Abstract

              The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the knowledge of the King's Philosophy and management of stray dog problems and 2) to study the application of knowledge of the King is  Philosophy to manage problems of stray dogs based on interdisciplinary approach The study was a qualitative research, in coverme  four case studies, The instruments used in collecting tha data were: documentary studies, in- depth interviews, group interviews with specific key informants and observations using the principle of triangulation as a tool for data verification Data analysis is Interpretation in qualitative research from social phenomena. The results of the study revealed that King's philosophy of solving stray dogs can be applied to all 12 principles: doing systematically , explosion from inside , solution for original problem , work consecutively , socio-geography consideration , holistic thinking , not totally rely on textbook , be economical , simplification , participation, common benefit focus and nature-for-nature, explosion from inside problem solving rierarchy, social landscape, holistic work No textbooks , frugality, simplicity, maximum benefit , simplification , participation. Public benefits and the use of nature to help nature.Additionally , the results of the study on the application of the King's philosophy in solving  stray dog ​​problems, coverning 4 case studies showed that, there were applications of the King's philosophy in managing stray dogs at HuaHin Dog Conservation Center Foundation under the Royal Patronage There is an application of the King's philosophy that has been initiated from the reign of King Rama IX by systematically taking care of stray dogs. Sterilization was performed to control the quantity and to nurture the dogs in harmony with nature, while the Nakhon Chai Burin Stray Dog Shelter as a center under the patronage of Princess Chulabhorn. There is an application of the King’s philosophy based on happy dog and a happy working together which creating innovations in caring for stray dogs  Moreover the Aircraft and Coastal Combat Command which is under the patronage of His Majesty has applied the King's philosophy to look after the dog like A destiny on earth Therefore, the desire for the dog to have a place to live and be free from all dangers. and the Navy's homeless dog care center by the Marine Corps. which is a resting center under the royal initiative of King Rama 10 has applied the King's philosophy focusing on morality, food adequacy and hygienc for dogs healthy
