The Development of Film Tourism Destinations with the Inspiration of Literary Value Concept

Abstract
The objectives were to examine the Inspiration from literary value in developing film tourism destinations and to provide guidelines for the development of film tourism destinations with the inspiration of literary values. Qualitative research method used in this study was in-depth interviews. The key informants were 42 government officials and local people and drawn from 3 types of film tourism destinations: real place, fictional place, and built place. Typological analysis and content analysis were used to analyze the data.
The results of the study found that the inspiration of literatures in developing film tourism destinations were to 1) create destination identity 2) create learning environment 3) create tourist attractions (theme) 4) create inspiration and 5) provide tourism experiences to satisfy tourists’ fantasy. The guidelines of film tourism destination development were to 1) use the strengths of literature presenting through movies/tv series to create a unique identity for destinations 2) develop tourism destinations to meet tourists’ imagination and 3) cooperate of tourism stakeholders in destinations.
