            บทความนี้มุ่งศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างอเมริกันโปรเตสแตนต์มิชชันนารีกับภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ ในพม่ายุคอาณานิคมอังกฤษ การศึกษาความสัมพันธ์แสดงให้เห็นถึงความขัดแย้งหรือความรุนแรง ได้แก่ ความขัดแย้งและความรุนแรงระหว่างมิชชันนารีกับรัฐบาลพม่า ความขัดแย้งระหว่างประชาชนชาวพม่าในประเด็นการเปลี่ยนมานับถือคริสต์ศาสนา ความขัดแย้งกับมิชชันนารี  ต่างสำนัก ความขัดแย้งระหว่างประเทศที่เป็นผลมาจากการดำเนินกิจกรรมทางศาสนาของมิชชันนารี และความขัดแย้งระหว่างอเมริกันโปรเตสแตนต์มิชชันนารีกับรัฐบาลพลเรือนพม่ายุคหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 บทความนี้ใช้วิธีการทางประวัติศาสตร์ในการศึกษาและนำเสนอในรูปแบบการพรรณนาให้เห็นภาพเพื่อความเข้าใจ

Abstract

            This article studies relations between American Protestant Missionary and various sectors in Colonial Burma. The study on relations demonstrates conflict or violence such as conflict and violence between missionary and Burmese government, conflict between all Burmese people about conversion, conflict with other church, conflict between American Protestant Missionary and American Presbyterian Missionary lead to international conflict between American Presbyterian Missionary and Siam government. Other that conflict between American Protestant Missionary and Burmese civil government after the Second World War. This article uses historical approach to study and narrative for presenting.
