Abstract

The objectives of the research “The Creative Process of Thai Dramatic Art SAKKARATEWARAT Dance are to study the creative process for the Thai dance new production Sakkarathewarat and to keep a record of the body of knowledge about  Thai dramatic arts. The research was conducted     by studying documents and by interviewing various dance masters who contributed to the creation of  a Thai dance performance. We also kept a record  of the choreography and then, had a focus group with dance experts to validate the collected information.

The results of the study showed that the creative process for this production has 7 steps:     1) the concept of the show. 2) The creation of      the melody and the rhythm of the musical. 3) The selection of the performers. 4) The creation of the choreography. 5) The design of the costume and accessories. 6) The dance performance creation  was presented to the dance experts and masters.  7) The presentation of the dance production Sakkarathewarat to the public, both within the country and abroad was explained through 3 meanings: 1) An introduction to a royal ceremony. 2) A link with Buddhist believes. 3) A way to express gratitude. There are 5 different blocking alignments on stage: The performers are aligned parallel to the audience, They are all in a diagonal They are consecutively in balanced and unbalanced display, They form one group, They are in pairs forming different alignments.
