Performance Competency of Heads of Production Line and Organizational Effectiveness of Canned Fruit Juice Production Companies in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

Abstract

Production industry needs personnel with knowledge and skills in working, but
canned fruit juice production industry still lacks proper quantity and quality of
personnel. This research to study performance competency of heads of production
line and organizational effectiveness, and the relationship analyze between
performance competency of heads of production line and organizational effectiveness
of canned fruit juice production companies in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The
research population consisted of heads of production division and heads of production
department. The sample size was 245 personnel, selected by using simple random
sampling method. The research tool was a questionnaire. The research results were as
follows: The performance competency of heads of production line was overall at a
highest level, and each aspect was considered, production knowledge was the aspect
with the highest mean, whereas the others with lower means could be ranked in
descending order of their means as follows: attitude, attributes, motivation, and
production skills. The organizational effectiveness was overall at the highest level but
each aspect of effectiveness was considered, development and survival was the aspect
with the highest mean, whereas the others with lower means could be ranked in
descending order of their means as follows: production quantity and quality,
satisfaction, efficiency, and adjustment ability, and There was positive relationship at a
high level with coefficient (r) = 0.825 and between performance competency of heads
of production line and organizational effectiveness. When each aspect was considered,
the aspects with positive relationship at a high level were attitude (r = 0.800),
motivation (r = 0.794), production skills (r = 0.790), and attributes (r = 0.740), whereas
the aspect with positive relationship at a moderate level was production knowledge (r
= 0.688). Effectiveness of the organization are effectively dependent on staff with
positive attitude towards organization by creating the feeling that there were stability and continuous growth in their organizations, which could result in ability to develop
production process using modern technology and working procedures of personnel for
organizational survival.
