Abstract

The aims of this study were 1. to study the students’ English listening comprehension skills achievement taught by cooperative learning and by traditional instruction, and 2. to study students’ satisfaction toward cooperative learning. The participants in this study were Matthayomsuksa 4 students in the second semester of the academic year 2020. The sample size was 80 (two classes). The participants in the study were selected by cluster random sampling. The instruments of the study include lesson plans based on cooperative learning and traditional instruction, achievement tests of English listening, and the satisfaction assessment form toward the teaching through cooperative learning. The statistics for analyzing the data were mean, standard deviation, and t-test independent samples. The study revealed that: 1. the achievement of English listening comprehension skills after teaching by cooperative learning was higher than with traditional instruction with the statistical significance at the level of .05, and 2. the satisfaction through cooperative learning was at the highest level
