Is PLC Really Good for The Development of Thai Education?

PLC stands for Professional Learning Community. It is a collaboration of teachers, administrators and related agencies for professional development and exchange of knowledge until it becomes a culture or community of exchanging knowledge. PLC is the process of bringing together real-world problems to solve problems and alleviating teacher stress with the concept of conversational aesthetics. PLC should have three key components: relaxation and alertness; Absorbing learning from complex experiences and experience development through proactive processes. The operational cycle of the PLC consists of four steps: storytelling in sequence, conceptual reflection, action through an action research process and summarize the activities. The ideal condition to use a PLC is that the participants feel safe, operate in a positive atmosphere, maintain time, focus on individual differences and understand that changes in emotions and ideas. The PLC developing a teacher's profession that operates for a short time, but the results are sustainable. It is a development operation at the grassroots level. Thai teachers should use this opportunity to talk, share experiences, express opinions to colleagues, heads of departments, administrators and education supervisors to see the real problems and solve it. If the problem is difficult to solve the role of administrators and supervisors is to send signals to the next department with reasonable information. If it can be done like that, it can be said that PLC is really good for the development of Thai education.
