Abstract

This research aims to study about the history of Sri Racha in Chonburi Province and to analyze for promoting and being awareness about the city of Sri Racha by using the community-based learning. The target group of this research is seventy high school students who have lived in Sri Racha district for five years in order to be attached to Sri Racha. The research methods are semi-structured interview about the particular feature of Sri Racha and rating-scale questionnaire about being awareness of Sri Racha. The questionnaire is divided into two parts: 1) to collect basic information of informants and 2) to evaluate self-awareness of Sri Racha. The result of this research finds that those students lack the knowledge of local history, tradition and natural resources, but they know the tourist attractions in Sri Racha and have pride to live in Sri Racha. However, they are rarely attached to Sri Racha. This problem shows that the students are not attached to the community. Therefore, it is necessary to restore local knowledge of being awareness of Sri Racha.
